Mid-America
Lightning Sprints Presented by Jayhawk Millwright Storms in to Nevada Speedway
this Saturday night June 29th. Nevada Speedway has been a main stay
for lightning sprint racing for many years and always produces great racing, this
night should be no exception.
This is Nevada Speedways 50th year of operation and Mid-America Lightning Sprints Presented by Jayhawk Millwright drivers wanted to do something special to celebrate this great achievement. Therefore Mid-America Lightning Sprints drivers have donated two kid’s bikes, one boys and one girl to be given away after the MALS feature event. Mid-America Lightning Sprints feature winning driver will draw two names from the hat to give away these bikes on the front stretch. Also Mid-America Lightning Sprints drivers and cars will be lined up on the front stretch for a pre race meet and greet. All fans will get the opportunity to come down on the track, get an up close look at their favorite drivers, take pictures and get autographs.
Phil Heavelow has been unstoppable up to this point with a perfect record sweeping the first two Mid-America Lightning Sprint events. Who will challenge him for the next win? All drivers have been showing great speed and are poised to win their first Mid-America Lightning Sprints race. Several of these drivers have scored victories in other series this season including M.K. Billings, Beau Heavelow, Tom Brown and Mark Billings but have yet to take the checkered flag in the MALS series. Rick Murcko who took a hard ride at Double-X speedway at the last Mid-America Lightning Sprints event has been showing that the switch from Modified to Lightning Sprints has been somewhat challenging but he is ready to except the challenge and will be back to sharpen his skills at Nevada Speedway. Expected to make their debut this season is Jim Devore and Merrill Lamb, who are always fast and have many Midwest Lightning Sprint victories over the past years to their credit. Several other drivers who have been finishing car builds are expected to also be in the field. This is a highly competitive series and any driver racing in the series has the equipment and skill to win on any given night.
June 28/29 is also a double header weekend. Midwest Lighting Sprint will be
racing the night before on June 28th at Valley Speedway in Grain
Valley MO. This is one of three double headers weekend with Midwest Lightning
Sprints and Mid-America Lightning Sprints this season.
In a continuing effort to work with other lightning sprint groups Mid-America Lightning Sprints Presented by Jayhawk Millwright is combining promotional efforts with the Illinois lightning sprint series for another double header weekend. July 5th Mid-America Lightning Sprints Presented by Jayhawk Millwright will be at Double-X speedway in California MO and on July 6th Illinois lightning sprint series will be at Peoria Speedway in Peoria IL. We are expecting several drivers from both series to support both shows making the next two weekends very exciting for Lightning Sprint drivers in Middle America.
